Today, I had the opportunity to volunteer at the FCM Conference and tag along on a bus tour of Halifax.

We visited the Fairview Lawn Cemetery where many Titanic victims are buried. The middle grave belongs to John Law Hume who was a violinist in the orchestra on Titanic. The graves on either side simply say ‘Died’ because the victims have not been identified. All the graves are numbered and can be searched here; the unknown victims are listed with their gender as well as any identifying personal effects they had on them when they were recovered.

Next year marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. It would be nice to see some of these unknown victims identified.
