365 Photo Challenge: Day 233

It was a dreary, rainy day and I only left the house to go to the grocery store. I took this Hipstamatic shot with my iPhone of a yard sale across the street from the Bridgewater Superstore.

To add to the dreariness, Canada lost Jack Layton today; a man that I had the honour of meeting here in Bridgewater only 4 months ago. He will be remembered for his  hard work, charisma and optimism as well as for being a politician who was more concerned about helping people than he was about power. I am thankful for all he did for our country and will continue to be inspired by his final message:

“My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world.” – Jack Layton, Aug 20, 2011

Goodbye Jack. You will be greatly missed.
